The Tree Which Moves
The Tree Which Moves Copyright 2014 Addie Hirschten Oil on Canvas 16" x 20" Original Available at the Art IN Hand Gallery |
“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only
a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and
deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the
man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
-William Blake

Nature's First Green
Nature's First Green Copyright 2014 Addie Hirschten Oil on Canvas 18" x 24" |
Local Indianapolis folks- be sure to stop by the Monon Coffee Co. this month for my solo show, "Trees of Indianapolis" where you can see this painting live and in person!
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
-Robert Frost
