The Harpist Oil on Canvas 16" x 20" SOLD Prints available on Fine Art America |
Back in my abstract college painting days, I depicted the sound of music with color and shape often.
I have always envisioned harp notes as golden.
The piano is blue.
Drums are green (well, sometimes black.)
And my instrument, the fiddle, is red.
Time has laid his hand
Upon my heart gently, not smiting it,
But as a harper lays his open palm
Upon his harp, to deaden its vibrations.
Upon my heart gently, not smiting it,
But as a harper lays his open palm
Upon his harp, to deaden its vibrations.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
