California!

Inspired by my recent trip to San Diego I am starting a series of paintings depicting the California landscape!  This one is of the cliffs at La Jolla looking northeast.  Normally you can see the mainland past the cliffs, but this was a foggy January day.

Life has loveliness to sell,
all beautiful and splendid things,
blue waves whitened on a cliff,
soaring fire that sways and sings,
and children's faces looking up,
holding wonder like a cup.

    So lovely. I was married in California, San Luis Obispo...so The Golden State holds a special place in my heart. Love the Sara Teasdale lines too.
